In recent years the Kia Sorento has grown to become a trusted crossover SUV in the minds of many consumers, from industry experts to casual drivers alike. It’s been able to set standards in the industry for efficiency and performance, but it’s only able to do so when its four tires are inflated to the right level. Today, we’ll tell you the 2017 Kia Sorento recommended tire pressure and why it’s so important to keep them there!
Most vehicles will tell you the best pressure levels for your tires either on an included placard or your driver side door, and the 2017 Sorento is no different. For both the front and rear sets of tires, you should aim to keep your tires at 34 psi, or pounds per square inch. This way, you’ll be getting the max performance possible from your Sorento!
This measurement is important because your tires do a lot for your vehicle’s drivetrain and axles. Keep them underinflated for too long and you run the risk of wearing down your axles prematurely because your Sorento has to work extra hard to keep you moving forward. However, don’t overinflate your tires either because the risk of popping isn’t fun.
Luckily for all of us, the days where you had to check your tire’s pressure manually with a gauge are long gone. The new Sorento model is outfitted with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which uses sensors to determine how full (or empty) your tires are running. You’ll receive a sensor alert if you’re getting too low, and we recommend you stop in right away to get it taken care of.
