All of Kia’s vehicles have really come into their own over the years. The automaker has cemented itself among the top brands in the business. Namely, Kia has excelled at producing efficient and environmentally friendly cars. Let’s take a look at just how efficient the new Kia Optima is.

Although it is known for its looks and style, the Optima is one of the most efficient models in the Kia lineup. It averages 36 highway MPG, which is outstanding given that the base Optima is a standard gasoline car. In the city, the 2018 Optima averages 25 MPG—still not too bad at all. Those numbers are coincided with the base engine, of course. The standard engine option on the Optima is a 2.4L I4 with 185 horsepower. That engine comes on the LX, S, and EX trim levels. Meanwhile, the SX trim comes with a much more powerful, 2.0L I4 with an impressive 245 horsepower. With that added power comes a slight hit to the car’s gas mileage. However, the SX still gets 31 highway and 22 city MPG.
In addition to its efficient style and makeup, the Optima has a ton to offer drivers. With everything like connectivity, safety, awareness, and high-class features coming standard, you will be able to enjoy the Optima’s amenities regardless of your budget. Some base features found on all trim levels include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, hands-free Bluetooth technology, lane change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Some of the more exclusive features offered only on certain trims include a heated steering wheel, wood grain accent trim, chrome accents, automatic temperature control, and a voice-activated navigation system. There is so much about the Optima that drivers love, so come check it out for yourself!
