There are many reasons to love a crossover SUV. Many of those reasons are why the Kia Sportage is so popular. This SUV is here for the 2019 model year and it comes with all the technology, comfort, style, and practicality that we have come to know and love over the years. For now, let’s focus on the latter. Precisely, let’s talk about the Sportage’s interior cargo room. It may measure a bit smaller than other SUVs, but the Sportage is a master at maximizing space. See what we mean below.

How much room is there inside the 2019 Kia Sportage?
The Sportage can be thought of as the smaller sister of the Kia Sorento. Don’t take that as an indictment on its size and space, though. Drivers of the new Sportage will immediately have access to 30.7 cubic feet of interior cargo room. That is with the rear seats upright. When the seats are folded down, that space doubles to 60.1 cubic feet. If you are a frequent traveler with a bunch of luggage and gear, you won’t have a shortage of space in the Sportage (poetry grade: C+). Compared to some competitors, the Sportage leads the way. The Jeep Cherokee holds just under 55 cubic feet of cargo while the Buick Envision has room for 57.3 cubic feet. What’s most impressive about those numbers is that the Sportage is actually shorter and slimmer than the Cherokee and the Envision, yet its interior is more spacious.
