Keep an organized list of what you need to make and what your guests are bringing. The head chef in any project needs to be on top of things and keep an order of things to do. Take note of any special food needs like allergies or vegetarian/vegan dishes and plan accordingly. Make a checklist and keep it neat.

If you try to make everything the day of Thanksgiving, you might drive yourself nuts. While your mashed potatoes should absolutely be made from scratch on the big day, you can prepare your turkey a day or two in advance. It won’t be as fresh, but your guests won’t notice the difference and it will save you some headaches and curse words. Turkey along with stuffing and veggies can be prepped ahead of time and easily stored until it’s time to eat.
