Kia has widened their purpose with the Accelerate the Good Program. Recently, as part of the Accelerate the Good Program, Kia partnered with Sea Turtle, Inc. to help baby sea turtles survive and find their way back to the sea. Sea turtles are endangered, and their eggs don’t have much survival rate on the shore. Usually, one out of a thousand eggs see adulthood. Kia teamed up with Sea Turtle, Inc. and modified the new Sportage X-Pro into a carrier cum rescue vehicle for baby sea turtles. The vehicle is customized with night-vision cameras, a first-aid kit, a roof rack for the necessary tools, algae bars (snacks for baby turtles), an improved cargo area to transport the eggs to a protected hatchery, and red LED spotlights to release baby sea turtles into the sea at night. At Garden Grove Kia in Garden Grove, CA, we have the manufacturer’s video on the purpose-driven Kia Turtle-Charged Sportage. Keep reading to know more.
