There are three available trims on the 2018 Kia Soul. The base, four-door hatchback averages an EPA-estimated 27 MPG (combined, city/highway), and up to 30 MPG on the highway. The plus trim (+) averages the same MPG rating, but the exclamation trim (!) gets you a slightly better bang for your buck with an EPA-estimated 28 MPG combined, with 31 MPG on the highway. As alluded to earlier, these MPG ratings are identical to the 2017 model because of the carryover nature.

The Soul’s base model is among the most affordable in its class. Starting at an MSRP of just $16,100, you might be hard pressed to find a brand-new vehicle as versatile and reliable for less. Of course, as you go up the trim levels, you will also go up the money ladder. The plus trim (+), still affordable, starts at $20,300. This trim includes a more powerful, 2.0-liter I4 engine as well as standard remote keyless entry. The most exclusive trim, the exclamation (!), starts at $22,800—still not too bad! This trim comes standard with ignition disable technology and a 201 horsepower 1.6-liter I4 engine.
