2019 Kia Soul engine performance
Though the Kia Soul is well-known for its design, what’s under its hood is arguably more important. Every driver of the Kia Soul will at least be guaranteed a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine powered by 130 horses. This is the most efficient engine option and it comes with the mpg numbers listed above. The Plus (+) trim comes with a larger 2.0-liter I4 with 161 horses. The top-of-the-line trim, the Exclaim (!) comes with a 1.6-liter I4 engine powered by 201 horses, which is the most powerful option available. All models come with front-wheel drive only, but multiple transmissions are available. The Base comes with six-speed automatic and six-speed manual options. That six-speed automatic is standard on the Plus, while the Exclaim features a seven-speed auto-shift manual tranny.
