Our country is nearing the two and a half century age mark. We’ve got to say, she looks pretty good, too. As we celebrate America’s 242nd birthday this year, we are bound to have a good time. Whether you want to gather for a big fireworks show or just keep it mellow with friends and family at home, that’s your prerogative. 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular
Wednesday, July 4, 4:00 p.m.-all night
Joint Forces Training Base, 11206 Lexington Dr., Los Alamitos, CA
If you are looking for the area’s best fireworks celebration, you won’t have to go far. Los Alamitos is only about a 15-minute drive from Garden Grove and this extravaganza is being held at a Naval and Army training site. What better location to celebrate our great country’s independence? There are no bleachers available, so guests are asked to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. There will be a food court, vendor booths, live music, and it is completely free to attend!
July 4th Firecracker Run, Parade & Fireworks
Wednesday, July 4, 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
Canyon High School, 220 S Imperial Hwy., Anaheim, CA, Peralta Canyon Park, 115 N Pinney Dr., Anaheim, CA
Just a bit north of Garden Grove is Anaheim. If you’re looking for a day-long event, these are the places to be. It all starts with a 5K/10K run/walk that people of all experience levels can participate in. Breakfast is served immediately following the race. The rest of the schedule for the day includes a Yankee Doodle dog show, parade, food booths, live entertainment, and a fireworks show at 9:00 p.m. at Peralta Canyon Park.
