2021 Kia Seltos vs 2020 Kia Soul

Technically-speaking, the 2021 Kia Seltos is the smallest crossover and is classified as a subcompact model in the Kia lineup. However, it offers plenty of cargo space and amenities. With a fresh and stylish look, there’s a lot to be excited about with the all-new model.

Although both trim levels have the same engine options at both the standard and higher trim levels, the biggest difference comes in the turbo engine's specs. The 2020 Kia Soul offers more horsepower behind it, and the combined fuel economy is also slightly in favor of the 2020 Kia Soul. However, the 2021 Kia Seltos comes with an All-Wheel Drive option, which isn’t available in this year’s Soul. If you’re looking for a vehicle with added traction for rougher conditions, the 2021 Kia Seltos is a great all-around option.

Additional Features Found in the 2021 Kia Seltos and 2020 Kia Soul

When it comes to additional amenities around each vehicle, both models have a host of features that includes items such as:

  • Upgraded Sound System

Though there isn’t much difference, the interior inside the 2021 Kia Seltos is incredibly well-balanced and futuristic while the Soul retains its refined layout. Both models have an available upgrade to the sound system, the Seltos received the Bose® Premium Audio System, the first Kia model to include one. The Seltos also receives just a touch more cargo space behind the rear seat with 26.6 cubic feet compared to the 2020 Kia Soul model’s 24.2, but overall, both models have similar space specifications.

In the end, both the 2021 Kia Seltos and 2020 Kia Soul can be great options to choose from. While the 2020 Kia Soul has the unique upright positioning and strong turbo engine specifications, the fresh look of the 2021 Kia Seltos boasts slightly more cargo space and an all-wheel drive option.
